
ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Sergio Cosmai, an Italian concept artist and illustrator. I've been involved in various projects, providing artwork in several areas, such as promo art, character design, environment and props design, and 3D assets (game-ready characters and creatures) from modeling up to texturing.
I love exploring different art techniques and tools, from 2D to 3D, and seamlessly applying that knowledge to my work.
My career began in 2009 as a graphic designer, a foundational experience that led me, in 2013, to my true passion: video game development. Over the years, I've cultivated a diverse skillset and a strong adaptability to various tasks, ranging from concept art to illustration and also 3D assets production. While seemingly similar, I appreciate the profound differences and unique goals of each discipline.
Beyond video game projects, I've also contributed to tabletop and card games, notably for Magic: The Gathering, a role I continue to hold. Despite this ongoing commitment, I have consciously chosen to dedicate the majority of my time to video game development and team-based work, as these are my greatest passions and intrinsic motivators. I firmly believe that video games are the most complete and immersive medium for emotional engagement transport. I especially love the parallel evolutionary process a team undergoes during a title development.
While I am deeply aware of the crucial importance of hierarchical roles in the successful development of a video game, I also stand for an equal dialogue through all team members. I am always open to a constructive feedback and committed to learn from it . Dialogue is so important within a team, and in my experience, the "human" aspect of a team member always precedes any technical ability; a successful project invariably stems from the hands of a united team foremost.
